Krause
kids share holiday luncheon with
State
Senator Hegar
KATY,
Texas - Newly elected State Sen.Glenn
Hegar, R-Katy, recently shared a Christmas lunch with the children
of Krause Children's Center on Dec. 13. The luncheon, underwritten
by AT&T and catered by Fuddruckers, was a hit with the young
residents and staff, who decorated the center with a banner congratulating
Hegar, a longtime volunteer at Krause, on his recent victory.
"Glenn Hegar is at the
forefront of those new, young, ethical and compassionate members
of the State Senate," said Kurt Senske, chief executive officer
of Lutheran Social Services, which owns and operates the Krause
Center. "But his greatest attribute in my eyes is how whenever
the residents and staff of Krause ask for his time as a volunteer,
he is there; quietly, humbly and without fanfare. It's a demonstration
of the true love he has for the children here."
Most recently, Hegar served
as Honorary Chair of the Tomorrow's Child Golf Benefit which raised
more than $94,000 for the children of the Krause Center.
The Krause Center is a residential psychiatric facility for children
ages 11 to 17 who have severe emotional and behavioral problems.
Most of the children are referred to the center by Children's
Protective Services and area juvenile probation departments
